Previous Work Completed
Construction of the Artesia Bridge Repair project began on January 2, 2024. Removal of the bridge began on January 19, 2024 and was completed on February 23, 2024. Structural excavation which included the removal of on-site soil materials and trenching began on February 2, 2024 and was completed on March 8, 2024.
Updated Project Status as of May 20, 2024
- Delivery of C-Channels was delivered to the jobsite on April 15, 2024.
- Welding of the C-Channels started on April 15, 2024 at Bent 10 for Span 9.
- The placement of concrete for beam seats at Bent 10 began. It will take about two-weeks to cure before installing beams.
- Structural backfill at Span 10 is pending design engineers approval.
- Fabrication of bridge components, security wall and helical piles is underway.
- Security wall design will be completed the week of May 20, 2024.
- Shop welding, beam preparation and painting is being conducted.
Work to be Complete
- Install Reinforcing Steel Piers – May 20 and May 21.
- Reinforcing Steel – Bent 9 to 10 – May 20 and May 21.
- Form and Pour the Bridge Deck – Bent 9 and 10 on May 20-23, 2024.
- Install Section 1 Handrail – Remove Section 2 – May 27 – May 31, 2024.
- Installation of bridge sidewalk on May 30, 2024 – June 6, 2024.
- Install Structural Steel – June 3 – 7, 2024.
- Form and Pour Deck – Bent 10 and Abutment 11- June 10 – June 14, 2024.
- Installation of metal bridge railings on June 7, 2024 – June 28, 2024.
- Installation of concrete panels on June 21, 2024 – June 27, 2024.
- Project is scheduled to be completed by July 18, 2024.
- Notice of Completion by September 18, 2024.
