Removal of the bridge began on January 19, 2024 and was completed on February 23, 2024. Structural excavation which included the removal of on-site soil materials and trenching began on February 2, 2024 and was completed on March 8, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Updated Project Status as of May 20, 2024<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Delivery of C-Channels was delivered to the jobsite on April 15, 2024.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Welding of the C-Channels started on April 15, 2024 at Bent 10 for Span 9.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The placement of concrete for beam seats at Bent 10 began. It will take about two-weeks to cure before installing beams.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Structural backfill at Span 10 is pending design engineers approval.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fabrication of bridge components, security wall and helical piles is underway.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Security wall design will be completed the week of May 20, 2024.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shop welding, beam preparation and painting is being conducted.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Work to be Complete<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Install Reinforcing Steel Piers &#8211; May 20 and May 21.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reinforcing Steel \u2013 Bent 9 to 10 &#8211; May 20 and May 21.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Form and Pour the Bridge Deck \u2013 Bent 9 and 10 on May 20-23, 2024.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Install Section 1 Handrail \u2013 Remove Section 2 \u2013 May 27 \u2013 May 31, 2024.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Installation of bridge sidewalk on May 30, 2024 \u2013 June 6, 2024.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Install Structural Steel \u2013 June 3 \u2013 7, 2024.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Form and Pour Deck \u2013 Bent 10 and Abutment 11- June 10 \u2013 June 14, 2024.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Installation of metal bridge railings on June 7, 2024 \u2013 June 28, 2024.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Installation of concrete panels on June 21, 2024 \u2013 June 27, 2024.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Project is scheduled to be completed by July 18, 2024.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Notice of Completion by September 18, 2024.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>We thank you for your patience, partnership, and perseverance in the repair and reopen of the Artesia Bridge.
